This is a little web site about our family. Well, really, it is a hub, connecting you to other web sites about our family:
We are Ivy, Violet, Ailsa and James Walton.
The title was coined by a good friend of our family, who addresed a card to us as such on the occasion of the twins' birth. The musical colouring of the name was particularly appealing to us; I think I shall remember it for a very long time.
We are indeed a quartet: a community of four, and yet one in our togetherness; our harmonies and dischords, our joy and pain, our excitement and normality, in our rhythm, in our timbre, in our many melodies, both predevised and improvised.
And although we are four in the here and now, in our oneness we shall never forget Niamh, who died in her mother's womb, and who shall always be with us in prayer.
And, of course, we shall always belong to that great orchestra of our wider family, without whom, we'd soon be out of tune...
